Launch of the electronic passport stamp in 2019

The Ministries of the Interior and the Economy and Finance announced Friday that the dematerialization of the tax stamp on passports will be carried out, from 1 January 2019. The order of the dematerialized stamp is done electronically. on the portal of the General Directorate of Taxes, at www.tax.gov.ma, indicate the two ministries in a joint communiqué.

Citizens will be able to pay the stamp duty, through the channel of their choice: directly by credit card on the portal or from bank branches and different payment providers, says one source.

They will then obtain a “dematerialized stamp” in the form of a series of 16 digits that they will receive by SMS and will have to use to complete the passport application form, on the website of the Ministry of the Interior dedicated to the passport: www .passeport.ma.

The Ministry of the Interior also announces that dematerialization initiatives will continue in order to enable citizens, in the near future, to formulate their requests for remote passport renewal.
