LUG announces the opening of a branch in Morocco

The Polish group LUG, one of the main European manufacturers of professional lighting solutions, has announced the opening of a branch in Morocco. In a press release in Warsaw, LUG’s Board of Directors endorsed the decision to open a branch in the Kingdom in accordance with the letter of investment intent signed on January 21 in Zielona Gora in the presence of the Morocco’s ambassador to Poland, Abderrahim Atmoun.

The opening of this unit is scheduled for February 14, indicates the president of the Polish group LUG Ryszard Wtorkowski who explains that “Morocco is one of the strategic priorities of his group due in particular to its stable economic situation, the high quality of its infrastructures and the large number of projects in which our products could potentially be used”.

LUG Morocco, representation of the subsidiary LUG Light Factory, also plans to develop in Africa. “The objective of the Moroccan branch will be the establishment of commercial activities in the field of professional LED lighting solutions in the Kingdom and in African countries”, specifies the press release.

In its letter signed on January 21, LUG confirms its intention to invest in the field of electrical equipment production in Morocco as part of a joint venture with a local partner. A delegation from the Polish group is expected in Casablanca this week for meetings with Moroccan partners in order to set up the partnership.

The choice made by the Polish group to establish itself in Morocco comes following the visit to the Kingdom in September 2021, of a Polish economic mission which expressed its interest in the investment opportunities offered by the country. Organized by the Moroccan embassy in Warsaw, the mission went to Casablanca, Laayoune and Dakhla.
