The Congolese singer, Maître Gims, created the event in Marrakesh, at the end of the year 2018 by animating Friday night, an unforgettable concert at the mythical place Jemaa El Fna on the occasion of the 2nd edition of “Stars in the square”.
Maître Gims, who had already been present last year for the first edition of this free outdoor concert, celebrated his new reunion with the Moroccan public by a very exceptional and high-quality musical evening that also saw the participation of renowned Moroccan artists.
Thousands of fans of this song star, whose musical style is influenced by hip-hop and dance, with touches of pop and Latin, vibrated for nearly two hours to the rhythm of a unique and unforgettable evening with a grandiose staging set up by professionals from the entertainment world.
Maître Gims, notorious fan of Marrakesh, wanted to offer the Moroccan and foreign public a historical and free show. A dantesque show has been designed to offer this audience a moment of absolute celebration relentlessly around a singer with lightning success.
This second exceptional concert was a great moment of musical fervor that will undeniably mark the magic and fairy beauty of the city of Marrakesh.
The concert kept all its promises and the public composed of Marrakchis, young people from other cities and tourists of the Ocher City, spent an exceptional evening on the Jamaa El Fna Square with their favorite star.
Initiated to revitalize the music scene in Marrakesh and entertain the public with an artistic platform that lives up to its expectations, this grandiose show brought together renowned Moroccan artists such as the groups FNAIRE, H-KAYNE, CRAVATA and the singers Saida Charaf and Manal, who provided the first part of the concert, before Maître Gims directly connects and played tubes from his latest album “Black Belt”, an album mixing festive songs and sentimental melodies, a mix of hip-hop culture and variety that detonate and vibrate.
Maître Gims continues to affirm that “Morocco is his country of residence and heart, he always enjoys performing on the Moroccan stage in front of the Moroccan public who supports him constantly”.
In a statement to the press before the beginning of this concert, Maître Gims said he was “very happy” to be in Morocco and participate in this 2nd edition of “Stars In The Place”, having been present also during the edition of the past year.
“I am very happy. We were hoping for this second edition and we needed it. And a year later, everyone has responded, including partners, to ensure the success of this evening,” he said.
This second edition, he said, is “a way to confirm and affirm that it is a festival in itself and an event that is now part of the events agenda of the city of Marrakesh, “said Maître Gims.
