Marrakech: Arrest of a danish sought by Interpol

The prefectural police department of Marrakech arrested a 30-year-old Danish citizen who was the subject of an international search warrant issued by the judicial authorities of his country for alleged membership of a criminal gang and serious bodily injury in the framework of a settling of accounts between criminal networks in Denmark.

The elements of the Marrakech police prefecture arrested the Danish national, on May 11, for his involvement in a case of fraud, impersonation, illegal entry into Morocco and forgery and use of forgery, said the Directorate General Safety Council (DGSN) in a statement, stating that the investigations and the scoring operation revealed that the mis en cause was the subject of an international search notice under a notice red issued by Interpol since 22 November 2018.

The accused was placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, according to the same source, adding that the competent Danish authorities have been informed of this arrest pending the examination of the extradition procedure by the competent Moroccan judicial authorities.

The arrest is part of the strengthening of mechanisms for international cooperation in the security field, the statement said.
