On High Instructions from His Majesty the King, Supreme Chief and Chief of Staff General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), the 6th General Assembly of the Organization of Military Sports in Africa (OSMA) is organized by the FAR of 3 to March 10 running in Marrakesh.
This large-scale sporting event will be inaugurated on March 6th by the General of the Army Corps, Inspector General of the FAR, at the Base Ecole des Forces Royales Air (BEFRA) of Marrakesh. It will be attended by 38 countries, including Morocco, host country, said a statement from the General Staff of the FAR.
Are invited to this meeting of African military sport, personalities and sports leaders like the President of the International Council of Military Sport (CISM), Colonel Hervé Piccirillo, the acting president of the Organization of military sport in Africa (OSMA), Brigadier General Katrima Manoni Phinehas, President of the International Judo Federation (IFJ), Marius Vizer and Olympic Champion in the 400m hurdles at the Los Angeles 1984 Olympic Games, Nawal El Moutawakel, currently member of the Moroccan National Olympic Committee (CNOM), said the same source.
Founded in 1994, OSMA is a continental organization made up of the armed forces of African member countries. It brings together 45 countries and constitutes the African representation of CISM.
OSMA organizes Military Games every 4 years and the Military Championships as well as the African Military Football Cup every two years. The OSMA has held its general meeting every two years since 2008, the statement concludes.
