More than 600 runners and walkers took part in the 2nd edition of the Lalla Takerkoust Eco-Trail held Sunday in the region of Amizmiz (Al Haouz province).
According to the organizers, 70% of the participants are new runners and walkers who took the start of the Lalla Takerkoust Lake Eco-Trail, which is the first leg of a three-event circuit scheduled for 2019 to promote the endurance sport, ecology, local solidarity and the promotion of “corporate running”.
Riders and organizers contributed to concrete actions on the ground. The first is an action of solidarity with the populations of the Atlas with a cover distribution operation in the province of Al Haouz and a collection of clothing to cope with the cold wave and snowfall.
The goal is to provide assistance to 1,000 families in several rural and mountainous municipalities. The second is to clean the sites of the region (60 km) with the help of paid volunteers and the Segedema-Pizzorno ecological association.
This sporting event aims to make discover that the protection of the environment is essential to have sites offering a practice of sport in the best conditions, to promote an activity in full nature respectful of its environment, its biodiversity and its ecosystem.
The Trail Morocco association remains deeply committed to its values namely respect for others, self-respect and respect for the environment.
