Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests Aziz Akhannouch held, Wednesday in Canberra, talks with Australian minister of Agriculture, David Littleproud, and minister of Trade, Simon Birmingham, on means to consolidate bilateral economic relations.
‘This meeting was an opportunity to explore ways to further consolidate cooperation relations linking Australia and Morocco, mainly in the agriculture and fisheries sectors,’ Akhannouch told the press following the talks, held at the Australian Parliament.
“We mainly focused on the importance of scientific research, training, and digitizing in the development of these two sectors considered vital to both countries’ economies,” pointed out the minister.
During this meeting, the Moroccan official provided insights into the Kingdom’s experience in water management, access to potable water, environment protection, and the sanitation and recycling of wastewater.
The talks also dealt with Morocco’s dam construction policy, which allowed the country to secure significant water resources and become a model in this field.
