Morocco and Thailand discuss ways to intensify bilateral cooperation

State Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mounia Boucetta, held talks here on Tuesday with Chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Affairs at Thailand’s National Assembly, Bilaibhan Sampatisiri, which focused on the means to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

These talks are part of ongoing efforts aimed at giving new impetus to relations between Morocco and Thailand, Boucetta said, adding that the two countries discussed the means to step up cooperation in several areas, including tourism, training, new technologies, research and development.

The two countries celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, Sampatisiri said.

She also underlined the importance of exchanging students between the two countries and developing ties between Thai and Moroccan parliaments.

Sampatisiri is on a working and friendship visit to Morocco at the head of a parliamentary delegation of her country.

Thailand will chair the regional grouping of ASEAN in January 2019.
