Morocco and the EU meet in a joint parliamentary committee

The 10th annual meeting of the Morocco-European Union (EU) Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) was held on Friday in Rabat, Morocco’s capital.

Co-chaired by Abderrahim Atmoun of the Moroccan Parliament and Ines Ayala Sender of the European Parliament, the meeting focused on ways to fight against all extremism and the achievements of the JPC.

Speaking on the occasion, Sender praised Morocco’s innovative efforts to train Europe’s elite anti-terrorism units.

For its part, Atmoun said that the meeting took stock of the achievements of the JPC, which has become important in the political cooperation between Morocco and the EU.

He added that the committee was “a real exchange laboratory and an essential tool of parliamentary diplomacy”.
