Morocco caught 1.31 million tons of fish in 2018, the same volume registered in 2017, the Moroccan National Fisheries Office (ONP) said.
ONP statistics show that coastal and artisanal fishery products caught in the Atlantic coat reached 1.28 million tons, while products caught in the Mediterranean coast reached 25,907 tons.
The market value of fish caught off Morocco’s coast and in artisanal fisheries in 2018 amounted to over 7.3 billion Moroccan dirhams (760 million U.S. dollars), up one percent from 2017.
