Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicraft and Social Economy, Mohamed Sajid, met today in Marrakesh with Li Jinzao, Vice Minister of Culture and Tourism of China and his accompanying delegation on enhancing cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and air transport.
“Morocco is looking forward to raising the number of Chinese tourists by the beginning of 2020,” said Mohamed Sajid. He announced the organization of two marches in Morocco and China during the same year. These exhibitions will express the cultural and historical depth of the two countries. It will be a great opportunity to open new horizons to benefit from the experiences of both countries.
The official revealed the increase in the number of Chinese tourists coming to Morocco, more than 100 thousand in 2017, “and this increase is due to the exemption of Chinese citizens from visa by King Mohammed VI.”
For his part, the Chinese official expressed his happiness with the visit and the commonalities between the Kingdom of Morocco and the People’s Republic of China, pointing out the importance of tourism in creating a bridge of communication and rapprochement between the two countries.
He noted that after his appointment as deputy minister of culture and tourism, he decided to make an initial visit to Morocco and to know about his history and ancient heritage closely.
He also stressed the existence of strong partnerships between the two countries is a good beginning for joint future work, pointing to the existence of important strengths in relations between them, highlighting the existence of great work to attract Moroccans to tourism in China.
