Morocco: Contractual teachers threaten a “white year”

Tired of broken government promises, she said, the Regional Coordinator of contractual teachers is raising the tone and threatening a blank year.

Thus, a general strike of six days is planned, accompanied by sit-in before Academies and Regional Directorates of the ministry. Protest marches are also scheduled to hear the voices of some 70,000 contractual teachers whose claim book suffers from slowness and administrative laxity.

On the other hand, the Regional Coordination of contractual teachers opposed a categorical niet to the contract proposed by the Ministry of Education. And this, especially after the threats of some Academies to cut the grass under the feet of the concerned by freezing their emoluments.

As a result, and in response to this situation, the statement of the Regional Coordination of Contractual Teachers warns that any freezing or delay of the salaries of the concerned will be synonymous with the beginnings of a white year announced.
