Morocco elected Deputy Executive Secretary of the CEN-SAD community

The Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Sahelo-Saharan States, held this Saturday in N’Djamena, has made three important decisions in the framework of the revitalization and restructuring of CEN-SAD.

The final declaration, adopted at the end of the summit, indicates that “The conference decided the appointment for the executive secretary post and its deputy, for a term of four (4) years, of two senior executives respectively of Niger and Kingdom of Morocco whose names will be communicated by the countries concerned to the President-in-Office of CEN-SAD”.

Thus, the Summit decided to entrust Morocco with the newly created position of Deputy Executive Secretary of the CEN-SAD community for a four-year term. For its part, Niger is being re-appointed to the post of executive secretary it already held.

Finally, the Summit decided to temporarily transfer the headquarters of the Secretariat of the Tripoli Organization to N’Djamena.
