Morocco: Fuel prices rise again

Fuel prices rose again on Tuesday (April 30th) at several service stations in Morocco.

The price of gasoline rose by 22 cents while that of diesel rose by 16 cents.

The price of gasoline this morning reached 11.28 dirhams while the liter of diesel costs 9.62 dirhams.

It should be noted that the last increase in fuel prices was recorded at the beginning of April. In the Ziz and Afriquia stations, the price per liter of diesel reached 9.51 dirhams and gasoline 10.74 dirhams.

Recall also that Lahcen Daoudi had heavily criticized the “political exit” of the Competition Council. The latter has disapproved of the government’s request for the proposed cap on liquid fuel profit margins.

Fuel cap is not a wise choice from an economic, competitive and social justice point of view. This was announced by the President of the Competition Council Driss Guerraoui at a press conference.
