Morocco invites Ezzalzouli to join national team in AfCON finals

Vahid Halilhodzic intends to invite the international player Abdessamad Ezzalzouli to be part of the national team in the finals of the African Nations Cup (AfCON).

FC Barcelona club’s international player is set to receive an invitation to be part of the national team for the next games, set to be held in Cameroon starting January 9 to February 6.

Vahid Halilhodzic will be inviting the international player soon, as he is having his file at the office, amid his good performance with the FC Barcelona team, ​​as well as the confidence he gained from Xavi Hernandez, the new FC Barcelona coach.

The 19-year-old participated in three games with the first team of FC Barcelona this season and played mainly as a left-back, while he moved as a secondary right-back.

Ezzalzouli is the first Moroccan player to join FC Barcelona. Born in Beni Mellal, started as part of FC Barcelona’s reserve this summer from Hercules in Alicante, where he had played 22 games in Division 2B and the Copa del Rey.

Previously, Ezzalzouli represented the Moroccan Under-20 team at the 2020 Arab Cup, scoring two goals in five games.
