Morocco took part, from 27 to 29 November, in IBTM World 2018 in Barcelona, one of the largest trade fairs dedicated to business tourism professionals and one of the privileged places for events and events. MICE (meetings, incentives, conferencing, exhibitions) around the world.
Morocco, as a MICE destination, presented its business tourism offer through a stand of 170 m² in which were represented 30 Moroccan co-exhibiting partners including hotels and DMC (Destination Management company).
The Regional Tourism Councils (CRT) of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima, Fez-Meknes, Casablanca, Marrakesh and the Oriental were also represented in the Kingdom stand set up by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT).
The delegation of the ONMT in Spain presented, at this international fair, the strengths of the main destinations of business tourism of the Kingdom. This show was also an opportunity for Moroccan professionals to interact with MICE decision-makers during working meetings and to concretize business opportunities.
Moroccan professionals have highlighted, on this occasion, the potentialities and strengths of Morocco in terms of business tourism, which are among the criteria considered as the most important in the choice of a destination for the organization of a business event, namely political stability and security, the quality-price relationship and the quality of services.
As a reminder, the city of Marrakech has won the prize of best international destination for tourism MICE during the third edition of the Iberian Association of Business Travel (IBTA), recently held in Barcelona. This prestigious distinction is a recognition of the assets and potentialities of the ocher city in the field of congress tourism and business.
A must-see platform for meetings between tourism professionals and MICE decision-makers, the Barcelona IBTM World maintains its leading position in the business tourism sector. The 2018 edition of this event attracted more than 15,000 professionals and exhibitors from the five continents.
This year, the show focused in particular on technological innovation adapted to MICE, by setting up a pavilion specifically for start-ups. During the three days of the show, exhibitors, including travel agencies, suppliers, receptives, representatives of tourism offices or event organizers, present their offers in this area and seal partnerships.
Several events, including keynote, meetings, workshops, conferences and other events, are organized by the destinations and companies present at this show.
