A cold wind seems to be blowing on Morocco-Emirati relations. This tension was confirmed by the recent recall of Morocco from its diplomatic representatives in the United Arab Emirates.
The decision concerns both the kingdom’s ambassador to the Gulf country, the two honorary consuls to the principalities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai and senior consular officials.
The UAE has deliberately failed to appoint a new ambassador to Rabat since the recall last year of its former diplomatic representative.
A way for the emirs of the Gulf, to put pressure on Rabat, which had refused to yield to their instructions and to comply with certain resolutions in connection with international files.
