Morocco, Serbia to boost economic cooperation

Moroccan Minister of Industry Moulay Hafid Elalamy discussed ways to step up economic cooperation with Serbia’s Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajic on Tuesday.

The two sides reviewed the level of bilateral economic relations and vowed to strengthen cooperation in investment and trade, Elalamy told the press following their talks.

For his part, Ljajic said that the two parties discussed potentials of setting up a free trade agreement.

He added that Morocco and Serbia have decided to develop cooperation in key sectors, notably the automotive industry, agriculture, textiles and information technology.

The talks were held on the eve of the second session of the Morocco-Serbia joint commission.

Trade between Morocco and Serbia stands at nearly 20 million U.S. dollars.
