Morocco has been officially designated, in Cancún, Mexico, to host the next annual conference of the Airports Council International (ACI). This conclave will be held in Marrakech from October 24 to 26, 2022.
During the closing ceremony of the General Assembly (WAGA) of ACI, the Director General of this international organization, Luis Felipe de Oliveira, announced that the National Airports Office (ONDA) will host next year’s annual conference.
“We are looking forward to working with the ACI and ONDA during the 32nd Annual General Assembly, the conference and the exhibition of the ACI”, declared Oliveira during this ceremony marked in particular by the broadcast of an institutional film on Morocco.
“We have no doubt that all the delegates will be warmly welcomed next year as we progress collectively on the path of sustainable recovery,” he added during this forum attended by ONDA representatives”.
“ONDA is delighted, once again, to host the next edition of ACI WAGA 2022 World and Africa,” said ONDA Director General Habiba Laklalech.
Ms. Laklalech, who was recently elected Vice-President of the Board of Directors and of the Executive Committee of ACI-Africa, also expressed her conviction that this “meeting will strengthen our optimism and our desire for a sustainable and secure irreversible recovery”.
The Airports Council International is an international organization that brings together 700 members representing more than 1,933 international airports in 183 countries. ACI is an international non-profit organization, it aims to promote the interests of member airports and the promotion of professional excellence in airport management and operation.
This organization works to strengthen cooperation among its members and with other aviation partners, including government organizations, airlines, and aircraft manufacturers.
ACI also helps strengthen the safety, security and sustainability of the global aviation industry by advancing the collective interests of the airports and the communities they serve.
ACI represents also African airport operators who are members of ACI to regional governmental and non-governmental organizations.
ACI Africa has 68 regular members, operating 260 airports in 53 countries. Airports belonging to this organization represent around 93% of the continent’s global traffic. ACI in Africa has elected its headquarters since 2006 in Casablanca, within the Mohammed VI International Academy of Civil Aviation located at Mohammed V airport.
