Morocco to receive 300,000 doses of Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine

Morocco must receive, this weekend, a first batch of the American Janssen Covid-19 vaccine, produced by the Johnson & Johnson laboratory. According to a member of the scientific and technical committee for vaccination, this additional boost will further boost the vaccination campaign, with the kingdom expecting to receive 300,000 doses of the Janssen vaccine.

“This sesame, approved in March 2021 by the Scientific and Technical Committee for Vaccination, is an anti-covid vaccine with a non-replicating viral vector (adenovirus)”, it is recalled. It will be used to vaccinate 300,000 people since it is administered in a single dose of 0.5 ml, unlike the Sinopharm and AstraZeneca vaccines for which the second dose is mandatory.

Media sources specify that the batch will be intended for areas most affected by covid-19 in Morocco, pending receipt of other batches, to speed up the vaccination campaign.
