Since last Monday, Agadir and its surroundings are home to major military maneuvers. They are taking part alongside the Royal Armed Forces, the United States Command for Africa (US Africom) and the British Armed Forces.
These joint military exercises are part of the strengthening of the security and military partnership of the allied countries of the USA. The aim of this partnership is to combat terrorist threats in the region.
The United States Command for Africa is not at its first organization of such annual military exercises. And the current edition hosted by Agadir and its region has the same objectives: prevention and fight against terrorist acts and fight against human trafficking. It should be noted that these maneuvers take place at the invitation of the governments of Morocco, the United States and the United Kingdom.
This edition is characterized by the simultaneous organization of “Judicious Response” and “Epic Guardian”. These are the names given to two military exercises which, for the first time, will be brought together while they were organized separately in previous editions.
