Morocco will create an additional wheat reserve

At a time when the war unleashed in Ukraine by Russia raises fears of a shortage of wheat in the world, Morocco will create an additional reserve of soft and durum wheat. This announcement was made by Mohammed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture.

Responding to a question relating to the strategic reserves of basic necessities in the House of Representatives, Mohammed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture announced the creation of an additional reserve of soft and durum wheat. The creation of this reserve, which is added to the strategic reserve of 5 months available to Morocco, is the result of hard work by its department and the Ministry of Finance. The National Interprofessional Office for Cereals and Legumes (ONICL) will be responsible for managing this new reserve, added the Minister.

Mohammed Sadiki also announced the creation of a commission supposed to determine the products forming part of the strategic reserve of basic necessities and that of a unified national system of the strategic reserve.
