Nearly 74,000 irregular migration attempts foiled in 2019

Some 73,973 attempts at irregular migration were aborted in 2019 by Morocco and 208 trafficking networks dismantled, as part of the fight against irregular migration led by the Kingdom.

As part of the fight against irregular migration, Morocco continued in 2019 to make major efforts, particularly in terms of dismantling migrant smuggling networks and aborting irregular migration attempts, says a source from the Ministry of the Interior.

These efforts also focused on prevention and assistance measures for victims and vulnerable people, crowned by the rescue at sea of 19,554 irregular migrants.
