Nearly a kilogram of cocaine extracted from the intestines of a Brazilian citizen

A quantity of 985 grams of cocaine, packed in 87 capsules, was extracted Monday night at the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center in Casablanca from the intestines of a Brazilian national, said Tuesday the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN).

The Brazilian was arrested by elements of the national security on April 4 at Casablanca International Airport Mohammed V while he was on a flight from Sao Paulo (Brazil) to Paris, said the DGSN in a statement.

The CT scan then showed suspicious substances in her belly in the form of capsules, suspected of containing cocaine, the statement added. The respondent was then transferred to the hospital for the extraction of cocaine capsules, before being placed in police custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office, to determine the alleged links of the suspect with networks of international cocaine trafficking between Europe and Latin America.
