The sustained pace of anti-covid vaccine deliveries to Morocco continues. This morning, the kingdom received another million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine which were received at Mohammed V airport in Casablanca.
This is the fifth shipment in less than a month from China. Indeed, since July 14, Morocco has received a total of 7 million doses from the Chinese laboratory if we count the arrival today.
Thanks to this constant rate of delivery, Morocco was able to further lower the age group receiving the vaccine to include young people over 20 years old as well as the category of pregnant women. It was also decided to abolish the domiciliation conditions. Elderly citizens can therefore go without an appointment to any vaccination center, which is all open seven days a week until 8 p.m.
However, the epidemiological situation is deteriorating. The number of contaminations reached this Saturday, August 7, 10609 new cases, while the deaths recorded a record with 92 deaths in 24 hours.
