New rise in fuel prices in Morocco

Fuel prices rose again on Tuesday (April 16th) in several service stations in Morocco.

The price of gasoline rose by 0.54 cents while that of diesel rose by 0.11 cents.

In Casablanca, the price of gasoline turns around 11.28 dirhams while that of diesel reached 9.62 cents.

It should be noted that the last increase in fuel prices was recorded on March 18th. The price of a liter of diesel had increased by 10 cents, while that of petrol had increased by 15 cents.

Recall also that Lahcen Daoudi had heavily criticized the “political exit” of the Competition Council. The latter having disapproved on Friday, February 15, the government’s request for the project to cap the profit margins of liquid fuels.

Fuel cap is not a wise choice from an economic, competitive and social justice point of view. This was announced by the President of the Competition Council Driss Guerraoui at a press conference.
