Nissan Motor said its board of directors, in a meeting in Yokohama, first recognized the importance and confirmed that its long-term alliance with Renault remainedunchanged” and said it would do its best to minimize the potential impactand confusion in the day-to-day functioning of the Alliance after the arrest ofCarlos Ghosn.
Nissan’s board has also decided to remove Carlos Ghosn from his tenure aspresident (he has been in office for almost 20 years) and director, which isalso true of Greg Kelly.
The creation of a special commission responsible for the floor on governance and the system of remuneration of the administrators was also studied.
Finally, an advisory committee chaired by Masakazu Toyoda and comprising KeikoIhara and Jean-Baptiste Duzan was set up. He will be responsible for nominating candidates for the position of Chairman of the Board.
