Pfizer and Sinopharm for 12-17 year olds in Morocco

The Vaccination Technical Committee gave the green light for Pfizer and Sinopharm vaccines for use in children 12 to 17 years old.

The two vaccines Pfizer and Sinopharm will be used in the vaccination campaign for 12-17 year olds after their approval by the technical vaccination committee on Tuesday, August 24.

There is still no date for the start of the campaign. The official date will be announced later.

The final preparations are being deployed by the competent authorities, namely the ministries of health, the interior and national education, we assure us of reliable sources.

This announcement follows Morocco’s decision to vaccinate 12-17 year olds which was approved by the scientific committee in charge of vaccine strategy on August 12.

According to our sources, parents will be asked to authorize the vaccination of minor children and to accompany them during the operation of administering the vaccine.

Several arguments plead in favor of the vaccination of this age group:

-Vaccination is essential, it is the only weapon through which we have been able to eradicate serious diseases such as polio and measles. In the future, the question of integrating the anti-Covid vaccination into the vaccination schedule will arise.

-The Delta variant is much more contagious, and also affects younger people. Vaccination helps protect children.

-Millions of children have been vaccinated in the United States and hundreds of thousands in France.
