Philip Morris Morocco obtains the label “EQUAL-SALARY”

Philip Morris Morocco (PM Morocco), gets the label “EQUAL-SALARY” from the independent and non-profit EQUAL-SALARY foundation. This certification confirms that PM Morocco pays women and men on an equal footing for equivalent work. Indeed, this is the first time that the Equal-Salary Foundation grants this certification to a Moroccan company.

As a reminder, the EQUAL-SALARY certification methodology consists of a quantitative and qualitative audit of the management’s commitment to respect the principles of equal remuneration, employee perception of this commitment, and policies and practices regarding human ressources. Certification also helps to identify areas for improvement and supports efforts to address the broader challenge of reducing wage gaps between men and women within a company.

In this regard, Véronique Goy Veenhuys, Founder and Managing Director of the Foundation said: “PM Morocco can be proud of its certification, which is a step forward on the road to global pay equity and contributes to the broader challenge of reducing of the pay gap between men and women”. In this sense, it is important to know that the certification of PM Morocco is part of a global goal of PMI, that of becoming a truly balanced and inclusive workplace. Note that today women occupy 35% of all management positions at PMI. The goal is to reach 40% by 2022.

“Our success as a company is based on a talented and diverse human capital that enables individuals to learn, grow and prosper over the course of their careers. This involves providing women and men with fair and equitable remuneration for equivalent work as well as human resources policies and practices that offer the same career development opportunities within PM Morocco. Our values and principles do not ask for nothing less,” said Nadir Achrane, HR Manager at PM Morocco.
