Police stop the smuggling of 10 tons of cannabis in El Jadida

On the basis of accurate information provided by the General Directorate for the Surveillance of the National Territory, on Wednesdey morning, arrested four persons, including a woman, on suspicion of links to a criminal network active in the field of international drug trafficking.

A report of the General Directorate of National Security said that the operation was carried out on the outskirts of El jadida, where a truck driver was arrested in an attempt to smuggle 400 bags of cannabis, weighing a total of 10 tons, before investigations resulted in the arrest of three other shareholders in the operation. Including the owner of the seized truck, and the seizure of 10 thousand euros suspected of links to international drug smuggling.

According to the evidence and technical expertise completed, the method of packing and packing of seized drugs, in a manner that protects them from water leakage, confirms that they were intended for smuggling through maritime routes. The presence of four distinctive marks on seized shipments is likely to involve several smugglers in carrying out this criminal operation.

The suspects have been kept under the custody of the theoretical guard against the background of the research carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, while the research and investigations are continuing to arrest all potential perpetrators in this criminal network and monitor their extensions inside Morocco and to identify their possible links with criminal networks at the International level.
