Qatar won the Asian Nations Cup on Friday (February 1st) for the first time in its history, after beating Japan (3-1) in the final at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, UAE United Arab Emirates.
Almoez Ali opened the scoring for the Qataris in the 12th minute before Abdulaziz Hatim recidivated in the 27th minute. Takumi Minamino scored the only goal for the Samurai Blue in the 69th minute. In the 83rd minute, Akram Afif scored third goal on the penalty spot.
Recall that the Qatar selection was imposed on Tuesday, January 29, against the United Arab Emirates (4-0), the host country of this edition, in the semifinals of the 2019 Asian Cup.
