Royal Air Maroc (RAM) won the “AFIX Tax Lease of the Year” award from the “Global Transport Finance” organization on 31st January in London for the financing transaction of its first Boeing 787-9 and 737-8 Max aircrafts.
The national company has been awarded for the normal financing of its aircraft acquisitions through leases guaranteed by export credit agencies or through conventional commercial credits.
“The financing transaction was set up by a major French bank, which also acted as a lender alongside Spanish and German banks,” says RAM. Thus, the company has opted for a financing type “French Tax Lease (FTL)”, combined with insurance AFIC (Aircraft Finance Insurance Company) for the purchase of both devices. This decision follows the open call for tenders in terms of proposed financing methods.
