Real Madrid: Paul Pogba divides Zidane and Perez

While Zidane put Pogba on his list of priorities, Florentino Perez would be against this expensive and unprofitable transfer.

The saga of Paul Pogba at Real Madrid seems to have taken another turn. The Spanish press claims that Real’s president, Florentino Perez, thinks that the French’s market value is very high in relation to his abilities.

Zidane has repeatedly stated that he is a big fan of Pogba, paving the way for many rumors on social media and the media about his possible transfer at the end of the season. However, Manchester United would hesitate to release his star and could demand no less than 150 million euros if Real wants to close the deal.

The cost of this transfer would have left Perez reluctant and hesitant to make a decision because, according to spanish media, he is not convinced that Pogba deserves such an expense.

Perez believes that Pogba failed to bring a plus in Wednesday’s defeat in the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Barcelona. “He thinks that the French international has disappeared during this meeting, when his team needed him the most, and this is not the kind of player that club officials want to Santiago Bernabeu”, can we read in the columns of the Spanish media.

The boss of the Merengue wonders if Pogba could be beneficial for the club, still according to media. He does not consider the Reds Devils playmaker as a future winner of the Golden Ball, and therefore does not want to spend much on a player who can not lead his team to success.

Note that Paul Pogba finished 15th in the standings for the 2018 Ballon d’Or, despite his influential role in the triumph of France in the World Cup. Given its market value, its wage demands and its capabilities, Real simply does not think Pogba is worth it. The French technician, Zinédine Zidane, is nevertheless seduced by the player.
