Real Madrid President launches message to Achraf Hakimi

Morocco and Spain are two neighboring countries whose proximity goes beyond the geographical aspect, said the president of Real Madrid, Florentino Pérez.

“Moroccan-Spanish political, economic and cultural relations not only promote cooperation between the two countries, but also open the door to broad prospects for collaboration and partnership between Europe and Africa,” Pérez added in an interview on the occasion of the official visit of the Spanish sovereigns in Morocco.

The president of Real Madrid has highlighted, in the same sense, the role of sport, football in particular, in the rapprochement of the two kingdoms and their peoples, noting that the balloon is a universal language through which peoples can communicate without intermediaries.

“Football is a sport that has no borders. Real Madrid has more than 600 million fans around the world, including more than 4 million Moroccans who follow it on social networks,” said Pérez.

Moroccans Madridistas, as they are called in Spain, still want to encourage Real Madrid in the Kingdom, Santiago Bernabéu and even in international stadiums, he continued, saying they represent a hyphen between Morocco and Spain in sporting terms.

Recalling that Real Madrid won the 2014 Club World Cup held in Marrakesh, Pérez welcomed the support given to his club by Moroccan fans during this competition.

He mentioned, in the same context, the social and solidarity projects led by the Real Madrid Foundation in Morocco, through which social and educational activities are conducted for the benefit of thousands of children and young Moroccans.

“The Real Madrid Foundation has six socio-sports schools in Morocco, Tangier, Tetouan, Marrakesh, Mohammedia and Benguerir,” he said, noting that these projects contribute to the social integration of more than 1,400 Moroccan children, thanks to the values of sport.

The president of Real Madrid has also said he is proud to have seen a great player like Achraf Hakimi grow up in the Madrid club. “Achraf is a talented player who made a remarkable World Cup with the Moroccan national team and won several titles, including a European Champion Clubs’ Cup with Real Madrid. We are counting on him in the future to continue writing the history of our club,” he said.
