Royal Air Maroc voted best airline in Africa

Royal Air Maroc is voted best airline in Africa by the 18th edition of the “GT Tested Reader Survey” of Global Traveler magazine. The prize was awarded to the National Company in Los Angeles, during the annual trophy ceremony organized by Global Traveler.

Royal Air Maroc was also ranked, within the framework of this survey, fourth best airline in the MENA, Middle East and North Africa zone, behind Etihad Airways, Emirates and Qatar Airways.

The GT Tested Reader Survey is a benchmark survey for the airline industry and premium tourism. It is organized by Global Traveler, an international monthly magazine distributed primarily to frequent business and leisure travelers. Some 20,000 magazine subscribers took part in the votes for the 18th edition of the “GT Tested Reader Survey”.

“We are happy and honored to receive this prestigious award as well as to be recognized as the best airline in Africa. This recognition comes from the direct testimony of our customers, all over the world. It crowns the daily efforts of our 4,000 employees to offer the highest standards of excellence in service, safety and comfort, at all levels of the customer experience. This Global Traveler Award motivates us above all to continue to move forward and improve ourselves, despite the difficult times our sector is going through”, underlines Hamid Addou, Chairman and CEO of Royal Air Maroc.

This distinction confirms a series of awards recently obtained by Royal Air Maroc. In 2019, the Compagnie Nationale was elected by Skytrax, for the 6th consecutive year, best regional airline in Africa. It also maintained its 4-star Skytrax label. Highly coveted by airlines, the Skytrax award is a world benchmark in the air transport sector.

In addition, the 18th edition of the “GT Tested Reader Survey” also awarded oneworld, of which Royal Air Maroc has been a member since 2020, the title of best global airline alliance for the 12th consecutive year.

This distinction reinforces the leadership of this Alliance. Last September, it was named the world’s best airline alliance by Skytrax. In November, it also won the Best Airline Alliance award at Business Traveler USA’s Best in Business Travel Awards.
