Sahara: Second day of the round table in Geneva

The second day of a second round table at the invitation of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Moroccan Sahara began Friday morning at Château Le Rosey in Bursins near Geneva, with the participation of a Moroccan delegation, alongside Algeria, the “polisario” and Mauritania.

The Moroccan delegation led by Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, includes Mr. Omar Hilale, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Nations in New York, Mr. Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid, President of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Mr. Yenja El Khattat, President of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, and Ms. Fatima El Adli, an actor and member of the City Council of Smara.

This second round table, which is held in accordance with the provisions of the last resolution (2440) of the Security Council, adopted on 31 October 2018, stipulates that the purpose of the political process is “to achieve a realistic, pragmatic and sustainable solution which is based on the compromise”, should end this Friday night.
