Hamoudi Bachari Saleh’s family has made a humanitarian appeal to the UN, the International Community and human rights NGOs to be saved from the tortures inflicted on him by the separatists of the Polisario.
She described in a letter to UN Special Envoy Horst Kohler the suffering and the danger she endured after organizing on 17 October 2018, a sit-in inside the MINURSO headquarters in the Mijek region to protest their situation in the camps.
In her distress letter and her request for assistance, Hamoudi Bachari Saleh’s family said she was surrounded by separatists and some of their comrades were displaced from refugee camps to Algerian soil without have news of them.
The letter goes on to say that at least a third of the camp population is marginalized, oppressed and exploited by Polisario leaders in Algeria for personal gain for more than 40 years.
Hamoudi’s family revealed that they had been assured by the security advisers and soldiers of the MINURSO mission that their grievances would be transferred to UN Secretary-General António Guterres with a view to finding an immediate solution to the situation of their suffering.
The family stressed that they had not received any humanitarian aid from the countries of the international community.
