Mohamed Sajid, the Minister of Tourism, Air Transport, Handicraft and Social Economy, said that the international tourism exhibition “Fitur”, which opened its 39th session yesterday in the Spanish capital Madrid, is an important opportunity to highlight Morocco and its rich qualifications and potentials in tourism, cultural and civilization.
On the sidelines of his visit to the Moroccan gallery at the International Tourism Fair, Sajid said that Morocco’s participation in this session is “very important”, both at the institutional level and through the presence of the bodies and institutions responsible for tourism promotion, including the Moroccan National Tourism Office, the regional tourism councils and Dar Sanea. The level of the private sector through travel agencies in various parts of the Kingdom.
The Minister pointed out that this international event, which is a global platform for promoting tourism and providing the latest developments and mechanisms adopted in the development of the sector, is an opportunity for officials, professionals and actors in the tourism sector in Morocco to hold meetings and partnerships with their counterparts from different participating countries, looking for partnership and cooperation.
During the first day of the opening of the exhibition, he met with a number of officials and ministers attending the event. Discussions were held on promoting the destination of Morocco, benefiting from the successful experiences of some of these countries, and launching the activation of the partnership and cooperation agreements between them.
During his meetings with various officials and decision-makers in the field of tourism, the minister raised the issue of Morocco’s candidacy to host the 24th session of the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization to be held in 2021, “and we requested the support of a number of friendly countries in the Mediterranean basin as well as support and of African and Arab countries.”
“We hope to receive the honor of organizing and hosting this meeting in the city of Marrakesh in order to continue to introduce our country and the Kingdom’s rich historical and cultural potentials,” concluded Sajid.
Morocco is participating in the 39th International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2019), which opened on Wednesday at the Madrid Exhibition Center.
