Built upon the naturally spectacular lands between Marrakesh and the Atlas Mountains, the outrageous Moroccan resort considers itself a ‘universe dedicated to pure leisure and pleasure’. Besides the stunning 18-hole desert course, it encompasses tennis, a spa, a 5-star hotel, a number of shops and restaurants as well as rental villas of several styles and sizes and an attentive services team.
Only 10 minutes away from Marrakesh airport and 15 minutes from the capital itself, Samanah Country Club covers a generous 300 hectares of land offering a lot of space for great course design, fulfilled by famous Nicklaus Design which realized its very first Moroccan course here. The meticulously maintained 18-hole desert design course with its fast, challenging greens and a breathtaking backdrop provided by the snow capped Atlas Mountains, was opened in 2009. It is the longest course in all of Morocco measuring 6800 m from the back tees.
In December 2012 Samanah has once again hosted the Lalla Aicha Tour School Final Qualifying welcoming 67 competitors from 29 different countries to vie for Ladies European Tour Membership in 2016. On May 26th 2016, the venue received caddies from all over Morocco and beyond to stage their tournament here.
Samanah’s caddies won the title, despite the strong competition, since caddies are compulsory in the country – a fact that may apply even if you hire a buggy. But indulging in such luxury fits well into the concept of Samanah Country Club, the resort and its staff standing ready to supply any kind of amenity a golfer may wish for.
