King Mohammed VI received in audience on Friday the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, who is paying an official visit to Morocco.

“His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, received in audience today, January 25, 2019, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mr. Sergey Lavrov, who is making an official visit to Morocco, as part of strengthening relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Russian Federation.
This hearing is part of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, sealed on the occasion of the historic visit of His Majesty the King, to Moscow in March 2016. This exceptional partnership has led to a deep and multidimensional development of relations between the two countries, and has opened ambitious prospects for enhancing political dialogue and strengthening economic and sectoral cooperation.
Satisfaction was expressed with the implementation under this Partnership of major projects and actions in priority areas such as Agriculture, Fisheries, Energy, Industry and Tourism.
His Majesty the King reiterated, on this occasion, the invitation addressed to the President of the Russian Federation, His Excellency Vladimir Putin, to pay an official visit to Morocco.
The Russian Foreign Minister conveyed to His Majesty the King a message of friendship and greetings from His Excellency Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and praised the regional and international leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI .
The talks also focused on various regional and international issues of common interest, particularly in the Middle East and Africa.
This hearing was attended by the Russian side of Mr. Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Valerian Shuvaev, Russian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, and Mr. Alexander Kintchak, Director of the Department of Middle East and North Africa at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in the Moroccan side, Advisers to His Majesty the King, Mr. Fouad Ali El Himma and Mr. Abdeltif Menouni, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Nasser Bourita”.
