The 4th edition of the Smart City Expo Casablanca, scheduled for April 17 and 18 in Casablanca, had as a background the demystification of the theme of artificial intelligence (AI) and highlighted the potential it offers to improve the quality urban services and the quality of life of citizens, the organizers emphasized.
Placed under the theme of “artificial intelligence in the service of the citizens”, this edition, initiated by the Council of the city of Casablanca in partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and the region Casablanca-Settat, was, also, like other the main objective is to open up new opportunities for innovation and creation of new businesses in the Smart City Casablanca ecosystem, with all its institutional, socio-economic, academic and civil society components.
This year, the Thai capital, Bangkok, was the guest of honor at this year’s edition. A choice that falled within the framework of the Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation signed in 2016 between Morocco and ASEAN (A political, economic and cultural organization gathering ten countries of Southeast Asia, currently chaired by Thailand) and the Kingdom’s candidacy for obtaining the status of “Sectoral Dialogue Partner”.
A true African hub of the smart and inclusive city, Smart City Expo Casablanca has been able to bring together over 250 speakers and 20,000 participants over the past for years.
