The British oil company Sound Energy has announced, Monday, January 7, the discovery of new traces of gas in its exploration well TE-10 located on the research license Tendrara, in the region of the Oriental.
“The quantification of the global resource is underway and will require an overall analysis of the walls and further evaluation,” says the company.
Recall that the British gas explorer has recently signed a new oil agreement with Morocco. It is the region of Oriental (Tendrara and Matarka) which is concerned for a period of 8 years.
This agreement was signed by the Moroccan Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Economy. Both concessions cover an area of 14,500 km².
Sound Energy holds 47.5% of the two concessions compared to 27.5% for its partner Schlumberger and 25% for ONHYM.
The British company had installed a drilling in Tendrara last July after confirmation of the presence of large deposits of natural gas.
