Morocco is the fourth most attractive country for startups in 2018, according to MAGNiTT, the largest database platform in the Middle East. Of the 10,000 startups registered in the Arab world, 35% are located in the United Arab Emirates, 19% in Egypt, 10% in Saudi Arabia and 8% in Morocco. The Kingdom is better than its neighbors, Tunisia (4%) and Algeria (2%).
In total, 404 startup deals were completed in the Arab world in 2018. The United Arab Emirates accounted for 28% of transactions. A total of $ 903 million was invested in these transactions, representing a 31% increase in total funding and a 13% increase in the number of transactions compared to 2017.
