Market capitalization stood at 561.74 billion dirhams at the end of March 2019, registering a drop of nearly 15 percent year-on-year, according to data from the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC).
The liquidity ratio, for its part, declined from 9.81% at the end of March 2018 to 7.16% at the end of March 2019, says the AMMC in its review of the capital market, which also reports a decrease in the volume of transactions.
Overall transaction volume was around 8.9 billion dirhams, marking a decline of 2.6 billion dirhams, year on year, “with greater support from the block market”.
It should be noted that the average daily trading fell by 43.71% in the central market, from 145.23 million dirhams in the first quarter of 2018 to 81.75 million dirhams in the first quarter of 2019.
