“Sukhoi” and submarines “Kilo”: These Russian weapons entices Morocco

In addition to the S-400-Triumph missile defense system and Sukhoi fighter jets, Rabat is showing increasing interest in sophisticated Russian weapons. This interest could turn into a “strategic” partnership through which the Royal Armed Forces develop their land, air and sea systems based on their use of the Russian market.

It is clear that Morocco is becoming more inclined towards the international trend towards expanding partnerships with the Russian Federation. Although the Russian Ambassador to Rabat, Valerian Shuvaev, has already confirmed that “the question of the possible delivery of Russian S-400 missile systems to Morocco has not been addressed at the moment,” but observers do not rule out the possibility that Rabat and Moscow reached an agreement It facilitates the transfer of jet weapons to Morocco.

The Russian missile defense system, the S-400 Triumph, the 636 Kilo submarines with the Algerian army, and the Russian tanks that are equivalent to the American Abrams M1, are the weapons that the Rabat and Moscow will discuss with the possibility of enriching the Moroccan military defense system.

“Russia is well known for the S-400 Triumph and S-500 missile defense systems, a powerful missile system that is equivalent to the Thad system, which is the pride of the US military, fully developed with the latest technology,” said an expert in geo-strategic and security studies.

“Russia has developed surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles, has a precise vision of military tactics, is more inclined to develop its security relations with a group of African countries, and is showing growing interest in North Africa, especially in North Africa,” he said. The relations between Russia and Morocco, which are strategic relations, where a number of agreements were signed, including training and military exchange and the transfer of the Russian military experience to Morocco.

“Moscow has a military space culture and launched a range of satellites related to defense systems, space surveillance and tracking of targets that affect the stability of the vital area,” he said.

“Russia has become one of the leading countries in the military aircraft industry, such as the equivalent of the US F25 aircraft, which is equipped with a powerful radar system and missile launch capabilities with high accuracy,” he said, adding that “the Russian military industry is also characterized by a squadron of submarines that can monitor and launch air-to-air missiles with a range of radars.”

“Russian military tactics are different from their Western counterparts in the face of” asymmetric “wars (the disparities in military capabilities, organization, armament and processing of combatants involved in the war), and Russia has become a pivotal state, especially after the outcome of the Russian-Turkish-American conflict. It has a strong position with its military bases.”

“Russia will allow the development of a security philosophy to combat terrorism and confront militant groups in the Sahel and sub-Saharan region. About 400 soldiers are training in Central Africa, and Russia has given military equipment to Group 5 in the Sahel,” he said.

“The Russian fleet has a huge naval force that makes it one of the most powerful naval fleets in the world, especially the power of submarines whose missiles can hit any target around the world at any time without being detected,” he said.
