Sustainable agriculture: CAM gets more than MAD 500 million

The “Crédit Agricole du Maroc” bank (CAM) will benefit from a credit line of 50 million euros (more than 500 million dirhams) for financial agricultural projects with a strong component of sustainable development. A memorandum of understanding has been concluded with the French Development Agency (AFD) on the sidelines of the SIAM, which is being held in Meknes.

The envelope will finance agricultural and agri-food projects with a dimension related to sustainable development and the protection of natural resources. Funding will include, inter alia, irrigation water saving, soil degradation control, organic farming and the use of renewable energies.

It should be noted that this financing is accompanied by technical assistance dedicated both to the CAM for a better structuring of its sustainable development offer, and to the client units of the bank receiving the line of credit to support their growth and development plan of sustainable development. Technical assistance will be provided by the Center for Studies and Research of Crédit Agricole du Maroc (CERCAM).
