Telecoms: Moroccan market, the most attractive in North Africa

The Moroccan telecommunications industry is the most attractive in the North Africa region, says Fitch Solutions in a new analysis devoted to the sector. Morocco thus moved from 9th to 7th place in the Middle East and North Africa region with a score of 45.1 and a level of risk considered low.

The Kingdom is ahead of the Gulf countries (United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Oman). For Fitch Solutions, the mobile market is expected to continue its good momentum “in the medium and long term” as operators are focused on the development of 4G services and the attraction of postpaid subscribers.

Morocco, Iraq and Iran saw the biggest improvements in their telecom scores with 2.4, 1.3 and 2.1 points, respectively, the report said.
