The draft financial law 2019, allocated 500 Million Dirhams for compulsory military service, which Morocco decided to return again.
According to the report of the Foreign Affairs, National Defense and Islamic Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, the amount of 500 Million Dirhams will be distributed to the expenses of the management of recruits or equipment to be acquired for their benefit or for the compensation of those involved in military service.
“Military service has an active role in fueling the values of citizenship,” Abdellatif Loudiyi, the minister in charge of the National Defense Administration, told a subcommittee discussion of his sector.
The military service “will open opportunities for the integration of young Moroccans into professional and social life by providing military and vocational training to the military culture based on discipline, courage and a spirit of commitment,” he said.
