The earth trembled twice in northern Morocco

The inhabitants of Driouch were very scared on Thursday morning and came out of their homes.

A telluric quake with a magnitude of 4.2 degrees on the Richter scale was recorded in Driouch province, says the National Institute of Geophysics (ING).

The quake, whose epicenter is located in the town of Tazaghine, occurred at 11H56 (GMT + 1), says the National Network monitoring and seismic alert of the ING in a warning bulletin seismic. The shaking, with a depth of 14 km, was recorded at a latitude of 35.202 ° N and a longitude of 3.481 ° W, adds the same source.

Recall that another earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 degrees on the Richter scale was also recorded on Thursday at 7am, still in the province of Driouch, according to the ING.

The quake, whose epicenter is located in the town M’hajer, occurred at 7H44, says the Institute in a statement. The tremor is 14 km deep, 35.163 ° N latitude and 3.478 ° W longitude, the source added. The northern regions are regularly affected by earthquakes of this type.
