“Avengers: Endgame”, the 22nd movie in the Marvel univers, has become the second-highest-grossing film in the world, surpassing “Titanic”, according to estimates released Sunday by specialized exhibitor Relations.
With $ 145.8 million generated this weekend in North America, and a total of $ 2.19 billion in two weeks worldwide, the fourth and final installment of the adventures of Iron Man, Hulk, Thor and company, exceeds “Star Wars – The Awakening of the Force” (2.07 billion) and the famous “Titanic” (2.18 billion).
The film, which has been in theaters for just 11 days and has raised $ 575.8 million in China alone, now has “Avatar” ($ 2.79 billion) in the viewfinder.
Hollywood experts predict a bright future for “Avengers”, which is acclaimed by 96% of viewers according to the site, thanks to its spectacular fights and special effects and its distribution: Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Bradley Cooper and Josh Brolin.
